My tattoo :) It’s the Adinkra Symbol “Nyame Dua” (in English: Tree of God), which is a symbol of God’s ever presence and protection. I decided to get it on my foot so I would always remember that no matter where I step foot, He is there.
Use my hands, use my feet, to make Your kingdom come until Your work is done. I’ll follow You into the homes of the broken. I’ll meet the needs for the poor and the needy. I’ll follow You into the world.
I’ll fall asleep and try not to think twice, about all the things that forever will knock me down the steps for being too nice, because everyone’s searching for treasure.
They’ll just dig, dig, dig until they can’t get out. Dying dirty digging for treasure, but as for me I’m giving up and I’ll take my bow. I’ll focus on my treasure forever. Yes, I know that my treasure is heaven.
A voice is on the wind, it calls me further in. I’m heading deeper into Your heart. Your mark is on my chest, my sails filled with Your breath. You guide me by the light of the stars.
The skies go blue to grey, and I’m thrown from wave to wave. You still will hear these lungs singing hard. With every storm I face, I have found a greater grace that pulls me deeper into Your heart.
I’m sailing on a ship that’s bound for life. I wrestle with the wind against the tide. I’d leave it all behind to reach for more. I’m sailing on to Your golden shore.
I’m sailing on to where the water’s sweet and bright. The sun is rising in the eastern sky. I’d leave it all behind to reach for more. I’m sailing on to Your golden shore.
A soldier lost his arm in battle while saving a little girls life and made the best of it.
